A ghost of a story floating through the October air.
Labradorites in all schillers and color arrays, some smokey and furtive, others bold as a crack of lightning. Soft lavenders and snakey greens and wisps of gray.
Each flashing labradorite gemstone is held by an undulating bezel wall, curving and irregular, like the edge of a sheet floating in the air.
Surrounding the pendants is a hand-twisted vine border, like the undergrowth of a cemetery reaching out its furtive tendrils. The backs of the pendants feature sweet, little sheet ghosts floating across a dark gray background.
Below each labradorite pendant are onyx gemstones, faceted to reflect bits of light. And between, little bits of chain, like the chains rattled by disgruntled ghosts.
This pendant has been aged and hand-polished for a textured, organic look, and to bring out the lowlights and accent the stone.

♥ Labradorite is an iridescent gemstone with a fascinating schiller or metallic luster when viewed from certain angles. The base color of labradorite is a smokey gray, but when light strikes the stone in a particular direction, it displays striking rainbow-colored reflections.

♥ This piece is part of the Nocturne Collection, an annual collection in time for Halloween. Everything has a dark, witchy aesthetic, sometimes whimsical and sometimes sombre.
Made in my smithing studio using time consuming, age-old metalsmithing techniques. This piece is made with solid craftsmanship and all parts of this piece have been hand-fabricated.

All of the pieces in my collections are handmade and hand-finished, and make use of natural and recycled materials. All items will have slight, natural imperfections rendering each piece unique. It is these variations and imperfections which denote their handcrafted nature and individual character, specially made for every wearer.

To create my antiqued pieces, the sterling silver is oxidize until dark gray. Oxidation is a process that happens over time naturally to sterling silver. Then the piece is brushed and polished until the highlights are lighter and the lowlights are darkened. But this oxidization is not permanent, and will fade in the areas that rub, and stay dark in the recesses. The patina will change over time, making your piece unique to you.
