Lodolite is a variety of quartz with inclusions of chlorite, iron and calcite. These minerals can be seen as plumes in the colorless stone with green, pink, yellow, brown, white and red. It is often called garden quartz or scenic quartz because it looks like a mossy covered miniature garden. To me, lodolite often looks like the Maine Atlantic tidal pools with their plumes of algae and the rippling clear water. So I wanted to make something that reminded me of the ocean.  

This ring features a beautiful garden quartz set in a pronged gemstone that looks like tufts of seagrass waving in the sun. To either side of the stone are little sterling beach stones. 

Set atop a half-round band for comfort.
