A romantic flutter of movement, deep furtive garnets, and the delicate ambers and creams of a butterfly wing. A ring made of summertime affection and sun-soaked bliss.
This ring design was made from my very favorite of my entire collection of Montana agates. Some are rich and bold in color, others are soft and subtle. A ring to match you!
They are set in sturdy sterling silver with windows sawn out of the backs to allow the light to stream through. I love to hold them up to the light and see all the tiny swirls of color and opacity.
Below each agate gemstone is a softly fluttering hessonite garnet gemstone, flashing deep reds at just the right angle.
Ever fluttering and alighting, just like a butterfly.
They are set atop thick 4mm rectangle bands with a floating dot pattern trailing around the band, like the tiny footprints of a butterfly tip-toeing its way around the finger.

Made in my smithing studio using time consuming, age-old metalsmithing techniques. This piece is made with solid craftsmanship and all parts of this piece have been hand-fabricated.

All of the pieces in my collections are handmade and hand-finished, and make use of natural and recycled materials. All items will have slight, natural imperfections rendering each piece unique. It is these variations and imperfections which denote their handcrafted nature and individual character, specially made for every wearer.

To create my antiqued pieces, the sterling silver is oxidize until dark gray. Oxidation is a process that happens over time naturally to sterling silver. Then the piece is brushed and polished until the highlights are lighter and the lowlights are darkened. But this oxidization is not permanent, and will fade in the areas that rub, and stay dark in the recesses. The patina will change over time, making your piece unique to you.
