"My sorrow, when she’s here with me,
Thinks these dark days of autumn rain
Are beautiful as days can be;
She loves the bare, the withered tree;
She walks the sodden pasture lane."
- Robert Frost
A ring for walks in sodden forests.
This ring design consists of beautiful labradorites, ranging from deep blues to snakey greens to crackling golds to soft purples. Some have a soft, smokey surface where to color is furtive and secretive. Others have a color that is bright and searing. Some gemstones are striated with surface imperfections, and others are smooth and liquidy.
A stone to sing to each heart.
Gently hugging the labradorites are sweet little copper leaves with leaf-print taken from real leaves.
The gemstones are set atop triple half-round bands split and flared for stability atop the hand. Tapered bands keep the rings from spinning around on the finger.
It has been oxidized and hand polished for an organic look, and to bring out the lowlights of the texture on the band.

☀ Labradorite is an iridescent gemstone with a fascinating schiller or metallic luster when viewed from certain angles. The base color of labradorite is a smokey gray, but when light strikes the stone in a particular direction, it displays striking rainbow-colored reflections. Most typically, these metallic tints are violet, blue gold, and green.

♥ Made in my work studio using time-consuming, age-old metalsmithing techniques. This piece is made with solid craftsmanship and all parts of this piece have been hand-fabricated.
______________________________________________
♥ All of the pieces in my collections are handmade and hand-finished, and make use of natural and recycled materials. All items will have slight, natural imperfections rendering each piece unique. It is these variations and imperfections which denote their handcrafted nature and individual character, specially made for every wearer.

♥ To create my antiqued pieces, the sterling silver is oxidize until dark gray. Oxidation is a process that happens over time naturally to sterling silver. Then the piece is brushed and polished until the highlights are lighter and the lowlights are darkened. But this oxidization is not permanent, and will fade in the areas that rub, and stay dark in the recesses. The patina will change over time, making your piece unique to you, and growing more beautiful with wear.
